Since elementary school, Vijay has loved all forms of science and experimentation; however, it was only in high school where he discovered his passion for microbiology. He fostered his interest for microbes by conducting scientific studies, ranging from microbe-mediated coral disease to the pediatric gut microbiome. In his spare time, Vijay binges reality TV and crochets amigurumi stuffed animals (with crochet microbes coming soon)! After working his first job conducting research in a microbiology lab at the University of Kentucky, Vijay founded Micro2MacroYouth to make the field of microbiology more accessible to the community and foster public health!
